Some people say one person’s trash is another person’s treasure, which for eco artist Jason Mecier, is certainly true. Mecier finds garbage to be a source of artistic inspiration. Mecier creates 3D celebrity works of art from every day items you can find in a dumpster. From Lady Gaga to Conan O’Brien and Pink, these celebrity icons are just a few of the inspired subjects he’s immortalized through found and/or donated junk.
Taking about 50 man hours to produce, Jason Mecier’s unique 3D celebrity ‘trashy’ works of art consist of materials such as gum wrappers, moldy slippers, toothbrushes, electronic waste, dirty laundry, and anti-itch creams-items most would find far from inspirational. Mercier has a large celebrity following, so much so that a large amount of items he uses are donated from celebrities own trash-bins. 
Mecier’s arsenal of trash and trinkets has created many acclaimed works of so-called ‘trashy art'.
