Floral Language

One of my earliest memories with my mom is going to the flower market in downtown Los Angeles and picking out flowers to arrange for the house. We used to go every week, very early in the morning (the flower market opens at 6am!) to choose our flowers. This tradition is very special to us, as it pays homage to my father, whose first business at thirteen years old, was selling flowers on the street corners in Los Angeles.

I used to wander around the endless vendor stalls at the Los Angeles Flower Mart, amazed at the smell, beauty, and touch of the various florals. My mom and I would each choose our own flowers and then go home and arrange the bouquets. Our arrangements usually looked a lot different; both beautiful in their own way, which made me wonder recently, what does your floral style say about you? I did a little research and found out which flowers mean what…So, what does your arrangement mean?
