Holiday season is in full swing and the invites are rolling in for parties abound. The two biggest questions on my mind are always, “What do I wear?” and “What do I bring?”
To make things simple this year, I have decided to enlist a personal stylist from Nordstrom to help me with the “What to wear” dilemma, and have gathered several go-to gifts that will surely bring a smile to any host or hostess’ face.
Chances are you’ll receive at least four different types of party invites – the casual hang, the family dinner, the work party, and of course the cocktail party, so here are four fool-proof outfit ideas that’ll leave you more time to sip wine and be jolly and less time to mindlessly stare into the depths of your closet.
Jazz up your jeans by adding a chic camel-colored turtleneck and animal print flats.
Whether you’re celebrating the holidays with a fancy dinner out with your parents (or significant other’s family) a tailored jumpsuit is the perfect option. Add gold touches in your belt, shoes, and clutch for a festive feel.
The annual corporate bash is all about kicking back with your colleagues without the glow of fluorescent overhead lighting. Up your work look a notch by adding some texture and a pop of color (deep Bordeaux red always does the trick) and don’t forget to paint your nails in the same shade.
Stand out at the fancy holiday party with an embellished dress. Choose embellishments that ring true to the season, like feathers and sequins. Keep your accessories simple in the same color scheme, and you’re automatically the chicest guest in attendance.
Now that you’ve got yourself all dressed up and ready to go, don’t forget to bring the host/hostess a gift that they’ll remember. Bring along one (or more) of these items and you’ll definitely secure your name on the VIP guest list for parties to come.
Sterling Vineyards has an incredible selection of wines from your seasons oenophile to your casual wine drinker. If you know the hostess loves fruity whites, bring her the Sterling Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc, with zesty grapefruit, citrus, fig, and melon highlights. If he loves his reds, gift him the special Sterling Vineyards Platinum, which delivers notes of blackberry, black currant and black cherry, layered with baker’s chocolate, tar, toast, clove and espresso. Whichever Sterling Wine you choose to bring, you’ll certainly add a little #SterlingLuster to the party.
If you’re all dressed up, your gift might as well be too! Add a little flair to the gift you bring along with a cute and festive wine tote. Kate Spade make a variety of fun and festive holiday-themed totes.
Who doesn’t love sweets? Wine and chocolate make the perfect pair, so bring along a Richart gift box full of sweets that they can enjoy with or without their nightcap.
