2018 Beauté for Breakfast Kick Off

As many of you know, one of my passions is to empower women. It has become more and more apparent, especially over the last few years and current state of our society (I won’t get political on here, don’t worry), that women need to have each other’s backs and raise each other up. I’ve always had a love for bringing people together and connecting dots, so I figured I would do so on a larger scale, by throwing events.

I have planned quite a few of these events now, which have ranged from a breakfast attended by some of the most powerful female CEOs in America, a panel discussion covering topics like self-confidence and entrepreneurship, a to lighthearted, lively dinner on a rooftop celebrating life and love.

Yesterday, I co-hosted my first event of 2018 alongside PRÊTE, where I actually launched a new event series called Beauté for Breakfast. This new event series is piggy-backing on what I’ve done for so long, but will now bring women together for a morning of networking, empowerment, and feel good conversation on a bi-monthly basis, in different major cities in the country.

Our inaugural event happened yesterday in Los Angeles. I hosted the breakfast take place at one of my favorite hotels, The Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. The Sofitel has a secret garden off the back of their restaurant, Esterél, which makes you feel instantly transported to the South of France. I chose the venue because it felt like the perfect place to celebrate women (it’s super feminine), beauty (it’s beauty speaks for itself) and spring (they have a full herb and veggie garden)!

The event had all of the makings of an Instagram-worthy party: a braid bar by Le Salon, a flower wall photo back drop that we handmade that morning, delicious food and drink by Esterél, and of course, a gift bag full of beauty products from some of my favorite brands such as Peace Out Skincare, Purlisse, SLMD, Dermovia, Freedom, and Luna Nectar.

I invited 30 women, who all happen to be equally as inspiring and beautiful. Most hailed from the fashion and beauty world, girls I have met over the years that have chosen to empower me, instead of compete (because as I have always said, there is room for everyone.) Some familiar names included Gretchen Rossi, Taye Hansberry, Fernanda Romero, Allison McNamara, Sydne Summer, Alessandra Torresani, Zia Domic, and more. The overall social reach of the guests was a staggering 6 million.

The event was a huge success, and achieved our goal to bring a special group of women together to network and empower one another. One of our favorite parts of the morning (which I do every time) was when I asked every attendee to get up, introduce themselves, share what they do professionally, and share one “crazy beauty tip” with the group (I got this idea from my 30th birthday dinner, after the tips went viral.) This special moment made for a lot of laughs and education, as guests were spotted writing notes in their iPhones for “to dos” to go try at home.
