Looking Forward to the 2023 Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance

Since the inception of the Pebble Beach Road Race in 1950, the Monterey Peninsula has held a special place in the hearts of automotive enthusiasts. Every year, this region becomes a gathering point for like-minded car aficionados who relish tradition while embracing engineering’s future. Rolex, the emblem of excellence, takes center stage from August 16th to 20th, championing four prestigious events united by style and human achievement: the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance® presented by Rolex, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®.

As the celebrations draw near, iconic marques prepare to showcase their legacy and race wheel-to-wheel, paying homage to motoring’s golden era.

The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca from August 16th to 19th heralds the festivities. This event welcomes 450 high-performance racing automobiles, including historic Formula 1® cars, thunderous Can-Am and Trans-Am machines, and more. Rolex’s enduring partnership with the Reunion began in 2001, and this year marks its 20th anniversary as Title Sponsor. Legendary figures of the sport reunite with their triumphant vehicles on the iconic Corkscrew turn, an awe-inspiring spectacle for thousands of spectators.

On August 17th, the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance® presented by Rolex transforms the roads into a mobile motoring museum. Over 150 automobiles embark on a scenic journey from Pebble Beach Golf Links® through the 17-Mile Drive and Highway 1 before returning. Since 2007, Rolex has been the Official Timepiece of the Tour, paying homage to timeless elegance in motion.

The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, marks its 20th anniversary on August 18th, with Rolex as Official Timepiece since 2005. A futuristic celebration, it attracts leading manufacturers and coachbuilders, showcasing avant-garde models and prototypes. This year’s themes include the 50th Anniversary of the 1973 RS Carrera and Eyes on Italian Design.

The grand finale, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®, takes place on August 20th. It celebrates iconic marques and spotlights sustainable technologies on the Concept Lawn. Porsche’s 75th anniversary and Lamborghini’s 60th take the spotlight, with Rolex honoring the Best of Show award recipient.

Rolex’s affinity with motorsport traces back to Sir Malcolm Campbell’s World Land Speed Record triumphs in the 1930s. Its presence in motor racing extends to iconic events like the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, Le Mans 24 Hours, and Formula 1®.
