
The World's largest art show, TEFAF, which is short for The European Fine Art Fair, turned Maastricht, Netherland's convention center into a 300,000-square-foot art and antique emporium. TEFAF was the largest fine art and antique show in the world, showing world’s most desirable art and collectibles.

First-time exhibitor Hammer Galleries of New York displayed a rare over-size portrait of first U.S president George Washington (1822) by Gilbert Stuart priced at $7.5 million. Other works included Amedeo Modigliani’s Jeune Fille Assise, and Les Chaveux Dénoués.
